Solar Moonshot Program Grantee

Lorena Special School for the Deaf
"The gift of solar power will shine far beyond today. Because of this solar project, these Deaf schools will spend less on electricity, allowing those savings to be reinvested where they matter most, in the lives of Deaf children. The funds that were once used for high energy costs can now help increase the food budget, provide teacher training, improve educational resources, and support other critical needs throughout the school. Reliable electricity also creates a better learning environment. For Deaf children, light is essential because they rely on visual communication. With dependable solar power, classrooms and dormitories remain well-lit even on cloudy days, making it easier for the children and teachers to communicate through sign language, continue learning, and participate safely in daily activities. This project is more than an investment in infrastructure. It is an investment in language, education, and hope. The impact of this generous gift will continue to benefit Deaf children for years to come, multiplying its value with every Deaf child who learns, grows, and thrives because of it. Thank you, Hammond Climate Solutions Foundation, for making this lasting impact possible!"
